Hey everyone, the update

April 27, 2015

Down here in Peru life goes on! Living the dream here, seeing miracles every single day. My knee is a little wack, but all will be okay. I am going to get it all checked out. Dont worry about it, forreal it isnt that big of a deal.

But I thought I would share a quick story. We are working with a less active member that doesnt remember almost anything of the church. His name is Octavio and he was baptized when he was 15, but doesnt remember anything. We started teaching him and he said that he really wanted to start going to church. He is 39 now, but has a hard time with the reading that we leave for him and understanding what we are saying. The third appointment that we had, he started out by talling us how he was talking with a friend about the church. He told us how he taught all of the Restoration throught the prophet joesph smith and about how God and Jesus are seprate people. He also was studying to be a bartender, but when we taught him the word of wisdom, he has stopped drinking completly with his buddies. It was absolutly incredible, he had learned all of the doctrine to be able to stand up for the church in only two appointments. He said that when he really learned was when he was reading and praying. This has been a huge testimony for me about the need of daily prayer and scripture study. I have truly seen the blessings that it can bring to our understanding.

I love you all and am so grateful for this time that I have here in the mission. I truly have been blessed and want to thank each one of you for your prayers. Have a great week!

Here are some fun memories of the past couple of weeks. We had a bird fly in our room, we went to a cool zoo place that looked like central park, got sweet tshirts in our zone, and got to feed a llama. Cool stuff.

Another Week, More Trials, More Learning

4/20/2015
Well this week was another fun and interesting week. We didn´t have water here for two days and nobody warned us, so had to use four water bottles as all of our water for 2 days. Also my knee flared up this last week, so I had to go to the doctor and get it checked out. I am all good though, just have to take taxi to all of the appointments for a little while. Nothing that I can do but learn from the expierience and try and understand why.

This last sunday we had a ton of people in the church again, which always helps out. I had a funny expierience this week with one of the member that comes with us to appointments.

His name is Hugo, he is 62 years old and has altimerz. (Don´t know how to spell it) He is super amazing. He always comes out and helps us. He is a jokester and always is making jokes. It is sad to watch his memory slowly slip away. But I have seen the spirit bless and help him as he comes out and helps us. I gave him a listorine breath strip from the US the other day. He put it in his mouth and got the most sour look on his face that I have ever seen. The poor little guy. It was pretty funny though! hahah

Know that I love you all and have really been blessed to have you all be part of my life. The trials come more as the growth comes faster, so I will just keep the hope and push on! Love you all!

Miracles!

April 13th, 2015

Wow this week sucked! It was really tough, I am not gonna lie. But in the end, it turned out being one of the most incredible weeks of my mission. My body hurt, i felt sick, and a bunch of other things. But it had to happen, becasue if the bad had not happened, it is impossible for the good to come!

This sunday was incredible! We had almost everyone that we are working with in the church! this really is a miracle, trust me. I truly got to see the grace of God. As we work through the crappy times, there is always a recompense. It ALWAYS comes if we continue in the faith. These moments are when we have to hold to the rod, do the things that we know, even when we cannot see or feel the help in this moment. It truly was incredible for me to have this expierience.

Know that I love all of you and am always thinking of you. This week we built a house at service. We had to move bricks up to the 5th floor. I had flashbacks to pavers up at the mabin. Love you all and you are all in my prayers!

Elder Roberts Letter

4/6/2015

Hey everyone up there in the US! I hope that all of you had the same great spiritual experience that I had with this last general conference. As I was watching the sessions on saturday, Im not gonna lie, it got me a little Trunkie. They talked about the family so much! It really helped me to remember how important the family is. I dont have that much time because I am loading all of the conference talks for my usb.

I hope that everyone is really doing great and can relisten to the conference again. I feel that being here in the mission has helped me a ton to really recieve the revelation so much stronger. I love you all and will write more next week!
